Case study: what a 30-day Motivaite trial actually looks like, week by week
This is an illustrative scenario — a composite of how the product is designed to work across a typical first month, not a named member's story. We'd rather show you the mechanics honestly than invent a testimonial.
Day 1: setup
Signup takes five minutes: the mission ("get to 13 st 7 by my brother's wedding"), an optional performance goal ("run a 10k"), height and weight, training days and kit, a check-in slot (Sunday, 6pm), and a card that won't be charged for 30 days. The coach tone defaults to Harsh. Most people leave it there, and most people are right to.
Week 1: the honeymoon
First weigh-in logged. Training plan generated for three gym days, edited to swap an exercise. Meal plan built from Tesco-shelf food. The 7am emails are almost pleasant — there's nothing to call out yet.
Week 2: the first calling-out
Tuesday's session gets skipped. Wednesday 7am: "One session down, Matt, and it's only Wednesday. The mission didn't move — you did. Today: 45 minutes, session two, no negotiation." It stings mildly. The session happens.
Week 3: the stall
The scale doesn't move for six days. This is where most solo attempts quietly end. The Sunday check-in reads the week honestly: food logged 6/7 days (win), workouts 3/3 (win), weight flat (noted, with the explanation that weekly averages lag behaviour by a week or two). The verdict: "Nothing is wrong. Keep going." Next week's orders: same again, plus 8,500 steps daily.
Week 4: the trend appears
The weekly average finally drops. A step-target streak shows up in volt on the dashboard. The trial-ending email arrives three days before day 31: membership starts at £12.99/month, cancel in Settings if you're walking away, nothing to do if you're staying.
Day 31
The honest pitch: if the month showed you that daily accountability changes your behaviour, £12.99 is cheap. If it didn't, cancel and pay nothing — the door stays open.
ENOUGH READING.
The Coach is waiting, and the first month is free. Card saved, nothing charged for 30 days, cancel any time before day 31.
