How to lose 2 stone: a no-excuses 12-week framework
Two stone is 28 pounds — 12.7kg. At a sustainable rate of 1–2lb a week, that's roughly 14 to 28 weeks of consistent work. Anyone promising it in six weeks is selling you a rebound.
The framework
Weeks 1–2: establish the baseline
Weigh in every morning. Log everything you eat — badly, imperfectly, but daily. Don't change anything yet. You cannot fix a number you refuse to look at, and most people are shocked by their honest baseline.
Weeks 3–10: the boring middle
This is where it's won. A moderate calorie deficit — for most people around 500 kcal below maintenance, never below 1,500 kcal without medical supervision. Protein at every meal. Training 3–4 days a week at whatever you'll actually sustain: the gym, home dumbbells, or bodyweight all work. A daily step target — 8,000 to 10,000 — quietly does more for your deficit than most people's cardio.
The scale will stall some weeks. Water, hormones, and salt all lie short-term. Weekly averages tell the truth; single weigh-ins don't.
Weeks 11–12: review and reset
Compare photos, not feelings. Check the trend line, not the daily noise. Then set the next block, because two stone lost and rebounded is worse than one stone kept off.
Why most people fail anyway
Not knowledge — accountability. Everyone knows roughly what to do. Almost nobody has something in their life that notices, daily, whether they did it. That's the entire reason Motivaite exists: a 7am order built from your real numbers, a food log that does the maths when you type "chicken wrap and a flat white", a weekly check-in that reads your week back to you without flattery, and a coach you can't quietly disappoint because it emails you about it.
State the mission — "lose 2 stone by September" — and everything the coach says points back at it. The first month is free, which happens to be exactly the baseline-and-boring-middle period where most attempts die.
